Amber is a funny young lady with a gentle soul. She loves to play with her dog Sunnie. Amber also volunteers at a local Cat Shelter, and has been working at the Queen Anne’s Library for the last two years. She is saving for college to be a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist. Amber enjoys shopping especially at Barnes and Noble and hanging out with her friends. This girl also loves eating Chick-fil-A, and drinking a strong cup of coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts!
It sure was memorable when I did Shelley and Troy’s engagement session at Cape Henlopen and Lewes Delaware. Since then, I looked forward to work with this awesome couple at their wedding, which would be at the Prospect Bay Country Club, Grasonville, Maryland.
Shelley and Troy picked Prospect Bay to enable all of their family and friends to celebrate their happy day. Halfway between both of their hometowns was Grasonville. The first time they visited it, they fell for the views, and with all the trees and landscape in full color, it would provide the amazing backdrop for their beautiful fall wedding.
After photographing Anne and Bill’s engagement session in Annapolis, I was excited that I finally get to photograph their big day at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel. I truly enjoyed being a part of Anne and Bill’s wedding and document every aspects of it. Right from the beginning of the day, their friends and family had been really nice and accommodating.
Anne and Bill chose Annapolis Waterfront Hotel due to many sentimental reasons. Anne grew up in Annapolis. Bill quickly grew to love boating and being on the water as much as she did. They wanted their guests to experience Annapolis how they had – on the water, around boats with cocktails and seafood. The Annapolis Waterfront Hotel was the perfect combination of these memories for their guests to experience.
I had looked forward to doing Jessica and Kenny’s engagement photo session because it would be at Rocks State Park, a place I had never been to before. They got me really excited with the mentions of the park’s main attractions, i.e. the second highest vertical waterfall in Maryland, Kilgore Falls, and the soaring natural rock outcrop known as the King and Queen Seat. I was also happy that they finally decided to bring along their dog, Bane.
The couple wanted to do the engagement session there because it was one of Kenny’s favorite places growing up. It was also one of the first places he took Jessica when he brought her down to Maryland.
Jessica and Kenny met on the dance floor at a wedding when “Return of the Mac” song started playing. They immediately hit it off and spent the rest of the evening dancing and talking. They kept in touch while she finished school. After Jessica returned, they began dating.
Kenny used Jessica’s love for Christmas as his inspiration for the proposal. He bought a custom ornament for the Christmas tree with scribes on the inside that read “Will you marry me?” “I love you”. He handed her many ornaments before handing her that particular one. When she realized what it said, she turned around and found Kenny was already down on one knee with the ring!
It’s easy to warm up to Angie and Massimo because they are truly a fun couple and I enjoyed working with them. I was also excited to find out that their wedding was at The Westin Annapolis Hotel. Happy that I finally was able to document a wedding there!
Massimo and Angie considered the perfect location of The Westin Hotel in Annapolis for their out-of town guests and also because it’s Angie’s hometown. The Annapolis Ballroom was the ideal venue for their private, intimate, and elegant wedding. The hotel coordinator, Thais Joy, was a delight to work with. The service was outstanding, and even after the wedding everyone was still raving about the entrees, how much fun they had, and how beautiful everything was. They couldn’t be happier with their choice to have their wedding at the Westin. Despite raining all day that day, everything went perfectly!
When I learned that Anne and Bill found out about me through Emily and Tim, I was really thankful and couldn’t wait to work with them. And when I knew that Anne and Bill have a bulldog named Stew, I immediately suggested the pooch to tag along for the engagement photo session. I’m glad that they agreed, for I just love doing engagement session with dogs. The couple decided to do the pre-wedding photo session at Jonas Green Park for the waterfront view and the small beach. It was also a perfect location for Stew to run around and play.
Anne and Bill knew each other for five years before they even began dating. They met through each of their cousins, who were good friends. They enjoyed spending time together during their respective families’ beach weeks in Bethany Beach, as well as out in Bethesda and Washington, D.C. Soon, however, they realized how they felt about each other and started dating in 2012.
Family is very important to both Anne and Bill, and Bill knew that Anne was hoping to be able to announce their engagement at her family’s annual Christmas party. As the party came to an end after all the presents were exchanged, Bill stood up and proclaimed that he had one more gift to give. He then got down on one knee, told Anne that he had “loved her since the first time he met her,” and asked her to marry him. Anne, through laughter and tears, of course said yes.
I was really excited when my runner friend, Abby, contacted and asked if I would do the honor of covering her son’s bar mitzvah. She completely trusted that I would deliver great photos although I had never done a bar mitzvah before. Though a bit nervous at first, I know the same lighting technique and my artistic ability would apply here. I only need to approach for important elements or setups for a bar or bat mitzvah photos.
On D-day, I finally get to met Abby’s family and her son Ben who would undergo an important milestone in his religious journey, entering his Jewish adulthood. The ceremony was done at Temple Beth Shalom synagogue, and the Rabbi and the cantor were all really helpful and accommodating. Because I have never been to a bar mitzvah before, I decided to attend the whole ceremony to get the feels and understand it. I had the honor to witness Ben doing the reading, chanting, and especially delivering his touching speech.
Ben is an outgoing, fun-loving teenager who enjoys spending time with family, friends, and his two cats: Tilly and Cali. Currently, Ben attends Severn River Middle School where he is a Principal’s Honor Roll student. His many and varied interests include skateboarding, basketball, football, participating in theater workshops at the Annapolis Children’s Theater, Classic Rock, and entertaining family and friends with his love of magic! In fact after the bar mitzvah ceremony, while the guests were treated with cookies and coffee, Ben performed a few card tricks for some of his guests at the synagogue lobby.
I was excited to do Britany and Chris’ engagement photo session, especially since they also brought their dogs, Taiga and Diamond, both of plott hound breed which I’ve never heard until then. We also get to do the session at the scenic Baker Park and Historic Downtown Frederick, Maryland.
Chris and Britany were both training new employees for a new Texas Roadhouse, but from different locations. They finally get to meet each other on the opening for that new restaurant, where the whole team got together to hang out and celebrate. Britany and Chris started talking that night, and ended up talking until the sun rose the next day! They had their first date that evening at Isabella’s in downtown Frederick, and the rest is history.
Two years from that first date, they went to New York City to see the sites. Little did Britany know, Chris had another plan. Once they reached the 86th floor of the Empire State Building and went out to the observation deck, he popped the question above the picturesque New York City with a beautiful ring – his mother’s. They set their wedding date shortly afterward, and decided to have pictures and their wedding in the city where it all began, Frederick, Maryland!
Love the way Taiga was sticking her tongue out here. 🙂

When I met Troy and Shelley the first time, I immediately knew that they’re a really nice couple and would be great to work with. And I was really excited when they decided to have me as their wedding photographer! This engagement photo session was a chance for us to get to know each other. It was at Cape Henlopen State Park and downtown Lewes, Delaware, places I had never been before! I was really thrilled!
Shelley and Troy picked Lewes, Delaware for their engagement photo session because of its small town charm. Along with having the boatyard, it was a location they couldn’t pass up. For the second location, they picked Cape Henlopen State Park because it was their favorite place to ‘escape’ and they could bring their dog, Remi. Not to mention the beautiful views that came along with the park.
The first time I worked with Todd and Casey was during their engagement photo session in Annapolis, which then continued with their wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. A few years on, with a handsome new addition to their family, Gunner, I was truly excited when the couple asked me to photograph their family, which we then did at Quiet Waters Park, Annapolis, Maryland.
In her own words, this was what Casey revealed on the interesting facts about Gunner: “He was named after my grandfather (Gunther – his boat’s name was Gunner). He’s the easiest, happiest baby you will ever meet. He adores his dogs and think it’s hilarious when Kahlua yawns. Crushes mac n’ cheese like it’s his job and loves to dance with his Dad. I’m probably extremely bias, but he’s the smartest 1 year old I’ve ever seen. He loves to learn and loves the book Brown Bear more than any other toy right now. He’s a flirt – especially with old ladies and little girls. He’s a special one for sure!”
