Pre-Wedding: Jacqueline+Bram

Last summer, I did pre-wedding session with Jacqueline and Bram. It was actually pretty hot that day. Not to mention it was around noon. But in general we enjoyed the session.

Jacqueline and Bram were a nice couple also. They were very cooperative. I did like working with them. They also sometimes gave me pose ideas.

I surely welcome ideas, especially if it makes my clients comfortable. Just like in the movies where the actor/actress sometimes give ideas to the director. I usually tell my clients if they have any posing ideas, please let me know.

KIVFD Carnival

It was actually the first time we went to the carnival. The carnival is held every summer hosted by the Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department. If it was not for promoting our school, KICS, we probably wouldn’t go there. 😀 No, wait, I take that back. We did plan to go to the carnival, but because of the KICS event, it solidified our plan. 🙂

Marcell, met several friends there, and did few rides together. The parents mostly just took them to whatever ride they wanted and watched them. My wife and I enjoyed the funnel cake though. It was always one of our favorite food during carnivals or any outdoor events.

Portrait: Santi

The other perspective side of the same session. 😀 This is Santi, Ribka’s friend. Of course it was also taken at Annapolis harbor and downtown. As you can see, Santi has no problem posing for the camera. In fact, she enjoys posing for the camera. She actually helped me give pose ideas for both her and Ribka.

Portrait: Ribka

We had known Ribka for a long time through our church community. She had asked me to do her portait about a couple years ago, but we always had schedule conflicts. Not to mention that I was in the transition from film to digital. I wanted to photograph her in digital format, so that I don’t have to scan film negatives, because she wanted to display the pictures on online network sites.

The session was in July, at downtown Annapolis and the harbor. I remember that it was hot but not too bad. In fact, I think the whole summer wasn’t too bad. At least in Maryland and DC metro area. Not many code-orange days.

Ribka brought her friend, Santi, who wanted to tag along and took some pictures as well. Santi also wanted me to take her picture as well. 😀

Kent Island Cross Island Trail

One morning in June, I decided to take Marcell to the Cross Island Trail, which is in Kent Island. A lot of people run, walk, or ride a bike there. It was actually my first time there. Yeah, I know. Shame on me, right? 😛 Well I had meant to do it since… well, a few years ago… but never got a chance to do it. In other words, never really put effort into making a plan to do it. 😛

It was a spur of the moment decision, but we’re glad we went there. We saw beautiful or strange-looking wild flowers, plants and trees. We heard the birds singing. We even enjoyed the warm sun rays squeezing its way through the tree leaves and branches on that slightly chilly morning.

School Grandparents Day

I was asked by the principal to be the official photographer for the school’s Grandparents Day back in May. It was an honor for me to do it. I did both fun-posed style and candid style (capturing their activity).

School Picnic

After a full week of SAT, the school wanted to give the students a little treat. So they did something a little different. They did the lunch outside and give pizza and ice cream to everyone. Yum! They also had some games right after lunch.

“I love my drink.”

Wedding: Kim+Steve

Kim and Steve are a really nice couple. I have known Kim for several years. However, I just met Steve on that day. Nevertheless, I felt comfortable with Steve right away since he was very friendly.

Kim and Steve’s wedding was in April, in Springfield, Virginia. I chuckled so many times especially during the reception because of Steve’s jokes. He’s a funny guy. It sure made my job fun. 🙂

Kim is very talented. She made her own wedding dress and wedding cake! If you’re interested, you can contact her here.

The DJ was great. I loved the music selections. On top of that, if there’s only a few people dancing, he would go to the dance floor and teach people some dance moves!

Cherry Blossom Festival 2008

Hey, not too bad. Three blog posts in one day! 😀

Our family went to see the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. It always held around the blooming period of the cherry blossom trees in Washington DC. We then went to meet our friends and had picnic under the trees.

My wife Pat and Marcell at the National Building Museum. Notice the giant pink cherry blossom balloons in the background.

Make up test session

This was a make up test session at KICS. It was during Talents Day where students and teachers show off their talents. One of the former teacher, Miss Gaffney, asked the three teacher aids (high school seniors) to be a volunteer for the make up test. She also asked me to take their before and after pictures.
