Wedding: Natali + Nick, Part 2

After the getting ready at the Tremont Plaza Hotel and the wedding ceremony at St. Ignatius Church, finally here’s part two of Natali and Nick’s wedding. The wedding reception at the prestigious Tremont Grand Historic Venue.

It was an awesome and fun partaayy! Whoo hoo!

Check out this image from the Carnaval Carioca part of the night.

Hey, Great shots of me painting the guests. I really like this painting. And thanks for the link. Your artist,

Where did you purchase the carnival carioca favors for wedding? It states that they are from Argentina. I would really like to incorporate this tradition into our wedding since my family is from Argentina and I would like to honor that.

  3. Leo Dj

    Hi Sonia,
I asked them and they told me that they got the masks and everything from Argentina. It’s much cheaper to get them from there than in the United States.

Wedding: Natali + Nick, Part 1

After Natali and Nick’s pre-wedding photo session at Old Town Alexandria, and another engagement session at Washington DC, I had the honor of covering their wedding at the prestigious Tremont Plaza Hotel and Tremont Grand with the ceremony at St. Ignatius Church, Baltimore, Maryland.

Since this is an all day wedding coverage, it will be split into two parts. This part will cover the getting ready at the hotel and the ceremony at the church. The second part, the reception at the Tremont Grand, will be covered on a different post.

This picture below was actually after the ceremony, but I loved the two unique moments here: the intimate moment of the bride and the groom, and the cute expression of the flower girl and the ring bearer boy which were brother and sister. They all loved each other don’t they. 🙂

Right behind the children were actually their parents. Their Mom was one of the matron of honor and their Dad was one of the groomsmen. There were two maids of honor and two best men. 🙂

But let’s go back to the beginning of the day. 🙂

Persian Wedding: Lili + Nigel

After their engagement photo session in DC, I had the honor of covering their unique wedding at Fairfax Station, Virginia.

I said unique because it’s a Persian wedding tradition, not the typical ceremony and reception that you see everywhere on most blogs from the United States.

Family: Skrincosky

Introducing the Skrincosky family. 🙂

The Skrincoskys wanted a family portrait before their son got bigger. They wanted to have a memory this stage of their son, of the family, done professionally. So they asked me whether I could do it before summer. Luckily I had a couple of spots left to do their session during this busy wedding season.

We were blessed with a good weather that day. It was a bit hot, but at least it wasn’t raining like the day before. The only problem doing the session on the beach was the bugs. Yes, there were quite a lot of them. But you wouldn’t see it here, and couldn’t tell by looking at these happy pictures if I hadn’t told you. 🙂
Well it’s my job to make my clients look great. 🙂

Anyway, here are some of my favorites.

Engagement: Lisette + Curtis

It was love at first sight.

Lisette and her friends went to a bar in New York to celebrate her friend’s birthday. That same night, Curtis and his friends also was celebrating his friends birthday, in the same bar. Their eyes then met, and their lovely story begun.

Here are some of my favorite shots from the engagement session at Annapolis harbor downtown and at the US Naval Academy.

Engagement: Denise + Rich

Denise and Rich originally wanted to do their engagement photo session during the Cherry Blossoms at Washington DC. However, due to the weather forecast on that day, it had to be postponed. After going through a lot of site options, we finally agreed to do it at Glen Echo Park at Glen Echo, Maryland.

We were glad that we did it there. It was a really unique place. It also brought back memories to Denise who went there when she was little.

Workshop with Cliff Mautner

For you who don’t know, Cliff Mautner is a highly regarded photographer and educator. He was named one of the top ten wedding photographers in the world by American PHOTO magazine.

However, the main reason that I took his 3-day workshop was because he was able to create beautiful photos even during the the most difficult lighting conditions. I wanted to be able to see the light the way he does. I was so glad that I took the workshop. The tuition may be expensive to some, but it was worth every penny to me. Some including myself agreed that what we gained from the workshop was worth much much more than what Cliff charged us!

Cliff not only taught the class about lighting in difficult situation, but also about lens selections, marketing, business, and workflow to name a few. We even got to see a live real potential-client meeting who was considering in hiring Cliff for their upcoming wedding! Cliff was like an open book and generously shares his wealthy knowledge that he gained from his almost 30 years of photography career. The only thing he asked us was that we shouldn’t share these information to others who have not been to his workshop. So don’t even think about asking how I did this and that on any of these images. 😀

Nicole and Brandon met each other a long time ago.  In fact, they’re high school sweethearts 🙂

That actually reminds me of someone else, well… yours truly… 🙂

Anyway, that’s where Nicole and Brandon met, and they have been together ever since.
