Here is a little story from a family reunion photography session I did back in July at Kent Island, Eastern Shore Maryland. I was really lucky to catch these two babies in action.
Anyway here’s the story.

Boy Meets Girl
Boy: “Hey there cutie…”

One day, back in July, I got a phone call from a family in Washington DC who planned to have a birthday party and a family reunion at Tilghman Island, Eastern Shore Maryland.
They found me through Google and called me. After talking on the phone and discussed with the rest of the family, they thought that I would be the perfect photographer for the day to document the event. They liked the fact that I have a child also and thus would be able to handle children.
Four beautiful girls…

No wait… there are six!
I was commissioned by the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company to cover a grant acceptance event at United Communities Volunteer Fire Department. After scouting the location for the event on the next day, we decided to check out the pier at Romancoke, Kent Island, since it was just down the street from the firehouse. It was such a beautiful but rather windy afternoon. Lots of people were fishing there. The water is quite deep but not quite transparent.

Finally, I got a chance to breath and catch up with my blog again. Phew… :p
Marcell’s birthday was in March. BTW, see any similarities between his name and the month? That’s exactly why we picked the name Marcellus. The name itself means “little warrior”, which we realized later that it actually fits his character well.
Anyway, the party was bigger than last year because this time Marcell had his school friends as well. He actually wanted to invite everyone from school! But we told him we couldn’t have everyone, since our house is small, and also due to budget constraint of course. Yup, it’s never to early to teach ‘em some money management.
So we settled with inviting friends from his grade and their siblings.
We rented a moonbounce so that the kids could have self-entertained fun. We got it from the same place as last year, Tents 4 Rent, but since there were more kids, we opted for a larger one plus that it has more added features i.e. slide and and basketball ring.

Yes, I’m late again posting this blog for the same lame excuse, busy with work. But hey, at least I post it. :p
This was a Valentine’s Day celebration at Kent Island Christian School. The school called it “Love Your Neighbors Day”.

The winter has been mostly warm during the beginning of the season until finally it snowed one day in January. The snow wasn’t high, but schools including Queen Anne’s County decided to close anyway. Marcell joined Camden for sledding at the K-Mart Stevensville Park and Ride. There were slopes surrounding the parking lot. The place had been a common place for sledding. Marcell also met new friends, Cooper and Jake.

The family portrait session was on November 1st in Kent Island, Maryland. We were so lucky (i.e. blessed) that it was warm on that day, because just a few days before, it was pretty cold.
Steph asked me whether their clothes should be color coordinated. I said that it’s not necessary, but would be better if they could. It turned out that she did a great job picking the colors for the whole family. The colors sure matched the fall season color palette.

Here is the second part of the day.
The children went outside again to play some games. They were divided into three teams. In the first game, the children were paired with a team member on their back and had to run sideways to the finish line before the next pair could run.

Kent Island Christian School doesn’t really celebrate Halloween. Therefore, they designate the day as Special Characters Day. Children cannot wear monster (scary) costumes, villains, and rock stars. Historical character, good guys, and biblical characters are allowed. Last year, it used to be limited to just biblical characters.
I’m starting to use the “read more” feature for the blog since there are so many photos I want to share, especially on this one. I’ll let you decide whether you want to see the rest of the photos or not.
Another benefit of using the feature is that readers can browse through and find a particular post quickly without having have to go through all the photos.
Anyway, here are the children getting ready to do the parade around the school ground.
