Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Wedding: Sarah + Brian

Sarah and Brian first met in their senior year of high school back in 2004 through a mutual friend on Valentine’s Day. A month later they officially became a couple and had been together ever since.

Few years later, just a few days before Christmas 2011, Brian surprised Sarah with the proposal. One night, Sarah had made a nice dinner. When Brian got home from work, he surprised her by bringing champagne and flowers. After dinner, they had a fire going in the fireplace. Sarah left the room for a bit to come back to the lights off and the only light was the fireplace and the candles. Brian then told Sarah to close her eyes. When she opened her eyes he surprised her with the engagement ring while down on one knee. 🙂

Chestertown Engagement Photo Session: Laura + Kevin

Kevin and Laura met at the bar where Kevin was working, Second Chance Saloon, in September of 2009.  Laura and her best friend were sitting at the bar and Kevin happened to be bartending. Kevin made it known that he was interested in Laura. Then after they were done that night, Laura’s best friend convinced Laura to leave her number on the receipt for Kevin. Laura then quickly ran out of the bar without saying anything to him, slightly embarrassed to have left her number. Surprisingly Kevin texted her that night. They then decided to meet up that following weekend, and had been inseparable ever since.  🙂

When it came time to take the next step, Kevin held onto the ring for six months trying to plan the perfect proposal. He eventually proposed in the comfort of their own home one chilly December evening. It was a perfect and completely genuine moment.

After their engagement, they decided that they wanted to do their engagement photo session near Chestertown in Eastern Shore Maryland. It was a bit drizzly that day, but we managed to work around the unfavorable weather to get great shots. 🙂

Queenstown Family Photo Session: McNurlan Family

I met some of the McNurlan family members at a school event because their son happened to be in the same school as my son’s. However, I had met the boys’ Grandmother a few years before at a swimming school. At the school event, the Grandmother introduced me to the boys’ Mom and told me that I was a professional photographer. Their Mother immediately told me that she might be interested in having her family pictures taken by me. So I gave her my card.

A few weeks later, she contacted me again and told me that she had seen my work on my Web site and became really interested in having me do candid lifestyle portrait of her family. I was really happy to hear that! I really love capturing emotions and relationships between family members, among the children, parents, and grandparents. 🙂

I didn’t get to meet the whole family until the photo session day. When I met them, my first impression was that everyone was very nice and accommodating. The boys were shy at first, but then gradually warmed up to me. I also noticed that they’re one happy family that likes to play and spend time together.

Oxford Maryland Engagement Session: Mike + Kirstin

Mike and Kirstin met in middle school and became close friends while working on middle school science projects together. That relationship continued throughout high school and college. They stayed in touch through weekly phone calls and visiting one another. After college they both had feelings for one another and started to date a year after they graduated (Fall 2010).

On July 27, 2013, Mike and Kirstin explored the eastern shore, went to St. Michaels Winery, and sailed on the patriot cruise in the evening. That evening they had dinner in the park in Oxford, an awesome little town in Eastern Shore Maryland. Afterwards, Mike proposed to Kirstin while she was sitting at the table.

Kirstin had grown up going to that small park as a little kid and is one her favorites places in the world, which was why Mike decided to propose to her there. 🙂

This was also why Mike and Kirstin wanted to do their engagement photo session at Oxford, especially at the park. 🙂

Annapolis Family Photo Session: Stecher Family

It feels like it wasn’t too long ago that I photographed Jennifer and Ryan’s engagement session at Kent Island, and also their wedding at Silver Swan Bayside the following year. However, the engagement photo session was about 3 years ago!

They are now blessed with a handsome son who’s already one year old! Time sure flies. 🙂

Although, I had seen some pictures of Jennifer, Ryan, and their son, Tyler, on their Facebook, it was really great to see them again after the wedding and finally be able to see Tyler in person. 🙂

Jennifer and Ryan decided to do a family portrait session for Tyler’s 1-year-old milestone. We decided to do the family photo session on the beach. They sure loved the water and water themed pictures. You would see what I meant if you see the engagement and the wedding pictures.

Maryland Science Center Wedding: Heather + Mauno

After I photographed Heather and Mauno’s Renaissance cosplay engagement photo session, I had always wondered how their wedding would look like.  Finally, after few months later, I got the answer. 🙂

Their wedding was so unique that it’s like nothing I had ever seen before anywhere, ever! It was a combination of Renaissance, traditional classic Estonian outfit, Star Wars, astronomy, and everything else in between, especially in the science fiction realm.

2941 Restaurant Wedding Ceremony: Jenn + Roger

After the awesome engagement photo session at New York City, I was really excited to finally be able to photograph Jenn and Roger’s wedding at the 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, Virginia.

It rained on and off that day, so the ceremony had to be inside. We were lucky that at times the rain stopped and we could go outside and took some shots.

Chesapeake Bay Family Photo Session: Arnott Family

I have known the Arnott family for quite a while. Although it seems like it was just not too long ago that I photographed their engagement photo session at Annapolis. That was over two years ago, Spring 2011. Then in that same year in Summer, I got the honor to photograph their wedding at Historic Inns of Annapolis, Calvert House.

About a year later, they had a baby, Broderick, who just turned 1 year old today! Time sure flies. 🙂

The Arnott family wanted to get a family picture done for Broderick’s first Birthday. They wanted a beach themed photo session. It sure was convenient that we all live in the Eastern Shore and not too far from the Chesapeake Bay. 🙂
