Sarah and Brian first met in their senior year of high school back in 2004 through a mutual friend on Valentine’s Day. A month later they officially became a couple and had been together ever since.
Few years later, just a few days before Christmas 2011, Brian surprised Sarah with the proposal. One night, Sarah had made a nice dinner. When Brian got home from work, he surprised her by bringing champagne and flowers. After dinner, they had a fire going in the fireplace. Sarah left the room for a bit to come back to the lights off and the only light was the fireplace and the candles. Brian then told Sarah to close her eyes. When she opened her eyes he surprised her with the engagement ring while down on one knee. π
I was really excited to finally be able to photograph the wedding of this beautiful and awesome couple.
The venue was at this beautiful waterfront resort, The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay, in Cambridge, Eastern Shore Maryland.
The photo above was atΒ the infinity pool, one of many awesome spots at the resort.
But let’s check out what the Groom and Bride were doing during the getting ready.
A little something to munch because they were hungry and wouldn’t be able to eat anything until after the ceremony. π
The Bride, Sarah, is looking beautiful and ready to go! π
Sarah and Brian decided to do a first glance before the ceremony.
I’m so glad that they did. I always love witnessing and capturing the Bride and Groom’s reaction and emotion during a first look.
Here’s the handsome Groom, Brian, ready and waiting for the Bride to come. π
Sarah came, slowly approaching Brian.
The Bride and Groom’s first reveal was at the Ravens’ View, the tower at the top of the hotel with a gorgeous view of the surrounding area including the Choptank River.
Rear view of the hotel. You can see Raven’s View tower in this picture.
Beautiful view of the water with the Choptank River Bridge in the background.

BTW, I love their bright green and orange color theme. I also think it’s awesome that the Groom wears a different color than the rest of the guys, and thus shows contrast.
Here’s Sarah with her Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids.
The wedding party was really awesome, by the way. We had lots of laughs and fun during the photo session. π
Their ceremony was outside, at the Regatta Pavillion.

What most Flower Girls love doing: spreading flower petals during the processionals! π
Here comes the Bride! π
Both of Sarah’s sisters read a passage for the Bride and Groom. One was reading a scripture from the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, and one from the Apache Marriage Blessing.
Next was the exchanging of the rings between the Bride and the Groom.
Sarah was recited her vows while putting the wedding band on Brian’s finger.
“You may now kiss the Bride!” π
Next, after the ceremony and cocktail hour, was the reception inside the gorgeous Choptank Ballroom.
They had custom ordered M&Ms for wedding favors for the guests.
The table centerpiece also had the same color theme using these green and orange flowers.
The beautiful interior of Choptank Ballroom.
Immediately following the introduction of the Bride, Groom, and the wedding party was the Bride and Groom’s first dance as husband and wife. π
After the dance, the Maid of Honor delivered her toast speech for the Bride and Groom,
and so did the Best Man. π
The cute wedding cake and the cupcakes by Mabel’s bakery.
Check out the desert that the girls were eating. They looked so delicious! π
After the dinner, it was parent’s dance, staring with the Father-of-the-Bride and daughter dance.
The Father of the Bride surprised everyone by showing a slideshow of pictures of Sarah since she was a baby.
After the Father-Daughter dance, all three sisters hugged their Dad. They all loved each other very much!
Next was the Mother-of-the-Groom and Son dance.
This would be the first time I saw a wedding that had pumpkin pie for their “wedding cake”. What really unique and personalized way to do the “cake cutting”. It makes the wedding feels very homey. π
Congratulations Sarah and Brian!
May you live happily ever after! π
