After I photographed Heather and Mauno’s Renaissance cosplay engagement photo session, I had always wondered how their wedding would look like. Finally, after few months later, I got the answer. 🙂
Their wedding was so unique that it’s like nothing I had ever seen before anywhere, ever! It was a combination of Renaissance, traditional classic Estonian outfit, Star Wars, astronomy, and everything else in between, especially in the science fiction realm.
The Bride and Groom and some of the guests and families stayed at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Hotel and were getting ready there.
Love that the Groom, Mauno, wears a tophat. He looks awesome. 🙂
He also carried a cane with him.
Check out the beautiful details of the Renaissance style wedding dress and jeweleries. It made the Bride, Heather, looked like a princess!
After both the Bride and Groom were ready. They decided to do a first glance before the ceremony.
I always loved doing this, photographing and documenting their precious surprise seeing each other for the first time in their wedding outfit, and seeing all the emotions. 🙂
The beautiful staircase and the chandelier at the lobby of Royal Sonesta Harbor Court hotel provides a great complimentary setting for their beautiful wedding outfit.
From the hotel, we all moved to the Maryland Science Center and did several romantic session shots before the ceremony.
Check out the gorgeous Bride’s flower bouquet by Divine Designs.
The wedding ceremony was inside the planetarium, which provided a starry night sky, suitable setting for their wedding theme.
The ceremony begins just like any other typical ceremony.
However, suddenly all the lights went out and there was an evil laughter heard!
When the lights came back on, Mauno realized that Heather was gone! She was kidnapped!
The Wedding party almost battled against each other thinking that the other kidnapped the Bride.
The Evil Lord who kidnapped Heather said that Mauno had to pass several tests to get Heather back.
One of the test for Mauno was to play the accordion. He was really good at it, by the way! 🙂
Then came the fake Bride. Of course Mauno recognize that the Bride was fake after the veil was opened.
Finally the real Bride came back! Yay!
But then Mauno said, “Wait a minute. You’re not the real Heather! You’re her evil twin!”
Heather’s evil twin complimented Mauno for recognizing her.
Unfortunately, the Groom had to battle with the Bride’s evil twin.
Heather’s evil twin was using this cool red light saber. 🙂
In the end, Mauno won the battle, and Heather’s evil twin got away.
The Evil Lord was not happy that Mauno passed all the tests, so he tried to defeat Mauno with his sword.
Then suddenly, the real Heather came to the rescue.
She battled the Evil Lord using a blue light saber.
The Evil Lord was defeated and the real Heather told him to go away.
Their theatrical play was really entertaining. All the guests, including us, laughed seeing their great show.
Then the ceremony continued with the vow, exchanges of the wedding ring, and the blessing.
The Groom’s wedding band had the Star Wars Galactic Empire logo on one side and Death Star on the other side.
Instead of using the typical numbers, they use star constellation names for the tables such as Draco, Perseus, Pegasus, etc.
The white and yellow flower table centerpieces by Divine Designs really added nice touch of color contrast to the overall look of the table.
Check out this super cool wedding cake with the decoration taken from the famous painting Starry Night from Vincent van Gogh.
Sherry’s Cakes and Bakes sure did and awesome job making this cake!
In addition to the main cake, they also had a Boba Fett mask cake. 🙂
They sure love Star Wars! 🙂
They had several food stations, so guests were free to roam and get their favorite food.
The prominent features of the main hall in the Maryland Science center were the Dinosaur fossil bones especially the huge T-Rex bones display.
The food stations were provided by Aramark catering. Some of the grilled selections include sausage, veal rib, and skewered beef.
There were also pasta salad, and the delicious crab cake with grits.
They were all really delicious! I would say they were one of the best catering from weddings I’ve had so far.
The Maryland Science Center building provided an awesome backdrop for a romantic shot of the Bride and Groom.
Finally it’s cake cutting time!
Just like the table names, the Maryland Science Center main hall also featured star constellations on the floor. Cool huh? 🙂
It was very entertaining to see the Bride and Groom and the guests performing Estonian traditional folk dance.
Congratulations Heather and Mauno!
May you live happily ever after! 🙂
